Since its inception in 1962, and incorporation as a
non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 1976, Harmony Hill School has stood in the vanguard of youth service providers in Rhode Island. Today, Harmony Hill School is nationally recognized as one of the area's strongest
advocates for troubled youth. Our mission is to provide treatment and education for behaviorally and emotionally disordered children, youth and their families who are experiencing disruptive life situations.
Harmony Hill School's state-of-the-art facility, accredited by two national accrediting agencies: Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services (COA)
and the National Commission for the Accreditation of Special Education Services (NCASES), provides a continuum of services and flexible programming. It is a comprehensive residential, day and community treatment
program that offers a variety of therapeutic and psycho-educational services for socially, emotionally and behaviorally challenged
boys ages 8 – 18. Students are diagnosed as having special needs including learning disabilities, emotional and/or social disorders and psychological disorders.
These students can no longer be maintained in a less restrictive school setting or community-based mental health program.
The true spirit of commitment, embodied in focused intensive treatment by
trained, experienced and dedicated staff, allows our students the opportunity to learn, the strength to grow and change, and a strong foundation on which to build
positive and productive futures. Harmony Hill School's goal is to reintegrate students back to a less restrictive educational and living environment, in a timely manner.
Located in rural Chepachet, Rhode Island, surrounded by 120 acres of beautiful fields, woodland and ponds, Harmony Hill School provides a peaceful, pleasant
environment. This distinctive countryside setting is in close proximity to the culturally attractive, urban area of Providence, providing numerous social, cultural
and recreational opportunities, which enhance our programs.
