The Harmony Hill School Extended Day Program is provided to students who have special education and therapeutic
needs but do not require a residential component. This program also serves those residents who are transitioning back to their home community.
The most unique aspect of this program is the extended hours that are made available to the youth and family allowing for a comprehensive treatment system. Day Students may stay after school or overnight to enjoy
activities into the evening or even overnight. The program also provides contingency planning for students who have not completed assignments or have had behavior problems during the day. An evening staffing
schedule allows short-term emergency support to students and their families.Home Visits are an essential element of the Extended-Day Program. They open
lines of communication between the staff and the families, in a familiar surrounding, building trust and understanding. Home visits also provide valuable
opportunities for discussions with staff regarding the youth's behavior and his program. |
